Position Overview
The Bartender at Row 188 is a key part of the guest experience, crafting exceptional beverages that complement the estate’s culinary and wine program. This role requires creativity, technical skill, and an understanding of both classic and modern mixology, with an emphasis on integrating Okanagan terroir and the estate’s wine-forward philosophy into the bar program.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a range of cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to the highest standard.
- Develop and execute a cocktail program that complements Row 188’s fine-dining experience and estate wines.
- Engage with guests at the bar, providing an elevated, welcoming, and knowledgeable service.
- Maintain expert knowledge of the wine list and integrate estate wines into cocktail and pairing suggestions.
- Manage bar setup, mise en place, and daily stock levels.
- Uphold cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all health, safety, and liquor service regulations.
- Collaborate with FOH management and culinary teams to design seasonal drink menus.
- Monitor bar sales and contribute to revenue growth strategies through upselling and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of bartending experience in fine dining, luxury hotels, or high-end cocktail bars.
- Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, and wine.
- Understanding of food and wine pairing; wine certifications (WSET or equivalent) an asset.
- Excellent guest engagement skills with a polished, professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
