Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic) – Off Road (3rd Year & Journeyperson)

 

O’Rourke Family Estate (OFE) is a 300-acre property with panoramic views of surrounding orchards, vineyards, rolling mountains, and the glistening water of Okanagan Lake. Inspired by Europe’s most famous wineries, the property features 110 acres of vines, 300 meters of winding tunnels, and 12,000 square feet of cave space to store and age wines.  In addition to OFE, the O’Rourke portfolio includes Peak Cellars. Located on a 7-acre property in Lake Country, and is home to our Goldie Road Vineyard. Wine isn’t the only thing the property produces; the half-acre organic vegetable garden and two greenhouses supply the highest quality fruits and vegetables for the Garden Bistro.

 

Rate: $30.00-$40.00

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Perks: Benefits, Tool allowance, Boot allowance

Schedule: 10+ Hours per day (day shift), 5 & 2, OT after 8hr/day or 40hr/week

 

Requirements:

  • Class 5 Drivers License with a clean abstract
  • Reliable transportation
  • 6” CSA certified steel toe boots

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
  • Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and overhauls
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees to adopt safety as a culture
  • This is a general responsibilities list and does not include all responsibilities required of the position

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (Red Seal) or equivalent experience is considered an asset
  • Experience with CAT E.T. and S.I.S. and/or Komatsu is considered an asset
  • Comfortable assisting apprentices in learning and developing their skills in the trade
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a faced pace environment
